Secondly, one cannot turn a blind eye to the role of technology and social media. With the charm of video games, social networks, and plenty of entertainments, children would always prefer activities that bring about instant satisfaction rather than subjects that require time and patience. This dependence on technology will cost them loss of concentration and motivation to learn.
Other factors might be related to teaching methods: a less interactive and bland method of teaching usually drags the entire learning process. Vice versa, when a learning methodology engages children, project-based learning, for example, using technology that may be appealing, it might make them more interested and involved.
The family environment also sets a child's attitude towards learning. Children belonging to families where not much importance or attention is paid to the educational matters pertaining to the child's needs for extra support or motivation show less enthusiasm for the subject under discussion. On the other hand, families that emphasize education along with offering emotional security to their children also develop a liking for learning in their minds.
Indeed, the interest in learning can be regained and developed. If we create a friendly learning atmosphere, more interactive teaching styles, and provide due emotional support, it then can be possible to help children recapture their enthusiasm and interest in learning. Such is a long-term investment that pays dividends not only in their academic success but also in personal development.
We can help them enjoy the process of learning and make them enthusiastic in their pursuit of knowledge, provided it is done accordingly. This would bring forth a generation that is academically intelligent yet passionate and enthusiastic in the pursuit of knowledge.
